I recently have been searching for the right nerf gun, but none of them fit. (Though I suggest the Mega Mastadon: It's cool!) I finally found this site, and now I am going to be mowing a lot of yards to earn this thing!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3871225350883453890.post-8509517775478205922012-08-24T18:03:16.477+10:002012-08-24T18:03:16.477+10:00P13c30fch33s3,

My friends only have a NF each, and the majority of their collection is disc blasters.
I never really liked the Hailfire nor Elite anyway, except for the elite darts and the 'Elite Jolt'.

Oh. Never knew you didn't like revving flywheels. Strange that you like the Rayven.Nerffanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18122249311895175019noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3871225350883453890.post-59057343937734096052012-08-24T16:45:03.690+10:002012-08-24T16:45:03.690+10:00I think that just about nails it on the head in ge...I think that just about nails it on the head in general really :P glad to help!Zandorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00639148038932210982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3871225350883453890.post-56362273174864194302012-08-24T16:08:25.832+10:002012-08-24T16:08:25.832+10:00Your suggestion is valid, with one problem - none ...Your suggestion is valid, with one problem - none of my friends have a Hail-Fire, and all are unlikely to get one. I'm really the only one who has more than 3 or so primary-worthy blasters in my friend groups.

I'm not really concerned about the Hailfire's superior capacity given I rarely spam, and thus reloads will be rare anyway.
I normally don't eat through a 35 drum in my small wars, so the Pyragon's 40 drum will hold up fine. Besides, I have 4x10 disc mags for the Pyragon, and 80 is way more than enough. For now at least.

Discs vs Streamlines, I'd much rather take discs. I loathe Streamlines and look forward to replacing them with Elite darts. And then possibly destroying some Streamlines for the fun of it.

I'm not too concerned about ranges (Pyragon gets great stock ranges, Hailfire can be overvolted). What I am concerned about is the handling in small spaces. The Pyragon is designed as a kind of heavy rifle, which is supermodel slim compared to the Hailfire (I think). Thus handling the Hailfire in doorways and the like will not be easy.

My point with instant fire vs electronic was that flywheelers need to rev up before firing, as well as having to rev up for maximum range. With the Pyragon, I can spew out an instant-fire storm of discs which go rougly the same range. I dislike revving flywheel blasters because it makes annoying noise and drains the batteries, and only rev them when necessary.

All in all though, I think a Pyragon would suit me better.

Thanks for the help :)P13c30fch33s3https://www.blogger.com/profile/03971776453540415024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3871225350883453890.post-33101993842276967472012-08-24T11:33:45.588+10:002012-08-24T11:33:45.588+10:00My suggestion would be to try out a friend's H...My suggestion would be to try out a friend's Hail-Fire and get a bit of a hands-on feel for how it operates.

The Hail-Fire has the advantage of *possibly* carrying and firing more darts than the Pyragon, however it is a bit more chunky and takes more getting used to advancing the ammo rack correctly.

The Pyragon (from what I've heard and read about) seems to be more reliable but you need to contend with disks rather than streamlines. I have not tried it out myself yet so I can't give an honest accurate comparison sorry :\

- For small team games, either will dominate purely from an ammo capacity and rate-of-fire perspective.

- Indoors or close-range outdoors, you will have no problems with either since they both shoot a good distance :D

- If you have more clips and streamlines, then the Hail-Fire will be more convenient to refill - however it also means more time to fiddle with reloading :P

- For instant-fire versus electronic it's a coin-toss flip. The Hail-Fire has an electronic flywheel system, but you only need to pull the trigger/s to fire each dart. The Pyragon you will need to do more pump-action motions which requires more effort, but does not run on batteries.

At the end of the day, the Pyragon is currently considered a "Great" blaster, while the Hail-Fire in my opion is "Great BUT the ammo rack takes practice to get used to" would be the shortest summary I could say xD hope this helps!Zandorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00639148038932210982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3871225350883453890.post-59463118690290257832012-08-24T10:36:57.606+10:002012-08-24T10:36:57.606+10:00Would you recommend the Hailfire or Pyragon as a w...Would you recommend the Hailfire or Pyragon as a war-worthy primary in my situation?
-Small team games (teams of size 2-4, up to 8 people)
-Indoor or relatively close outdoor
-Good stocks of both clips and Streamlines, and mags and discs (far more clips and Streamlines)
-Prefer instant-fire over electronic
-Majority blasters are clip system (discs uncommon)

At first I really wanted a Hailfire, then UT's reviews came out and I switched to the Pyragon, and then this review came out and my mind is on fire >.<P13c30fch33s3https://www.blogger.com/profile/03971776453540415024noreply@blogger.com
